Important 2025 Medicare Changes
There are some very important changes regarding Medicare in 2025. Most of these will drastically reduce most members' prescription out-of-pocket costs and provide some additional medical benefits.
However, these changes require carriers to pick up a greater share of these costs and Medicare is not going to increase the monthly amount that is provided to carriers to cover claims.
This is going to put some financial plan pressure on many carriers that do not have the strong financial base and membership of United Health Care.
We have already seen the announcement that Blue Cross of Kansas City—with just being a local/ regional company—has said they can no longer afford to be in the Medicare Advantage Marketplace. They are terminating all of their Medicare Advantage Plans at the end of this year. The good news is that all these members have guaranteed issue rights to enroll in any eligible Medicare plan they want this Annual Election Period.
If you have friends or relatives who are currently enrolled with Blue Cross of Kansas City, please give them our information and ask them to reach out to us to help them navigate their options.
Many of you have already done this and we appreciate it. We will meet with them one-on-one and help them choose the best option for them. In the meantime, we will also provide them with updates on these 2025 Medicare changes, etc.
Please be watching for additional emails in the coming weeks detailing more of the 2025 Medicare changes. We will also be conducting several Zoom calls to help explain these Medicare changes for 2025 in more detail.
We appreciate you allowing us to serve you and we will do everything we can to continue to earn your trust.
Thank you,
